This past Saturday night, we were honored to be the “Tent Sponsor” for the Devereux Foundation’s 100th Anniversary Gala Celebration. The Devereux Foundation is a national non-profit behavioral health organization based in Philadelphia that has been assisting and educating children and adults with intellectual, emotional, developmental, and behavioral challenges for 100 years. This centennial anniversary was celebrated on the upper terrace in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Our sales team and installers have worked with the Philadelphia Museum of Art on other events in the past, and we were asked again to bring our expertise and skill to provide an outdoor venue for this special occasion. Planning sessions for the large clear structure began February 2012, and culminated nine months later with this spectacular sight:
Guests first enjoyed a cocktail hour and silent auction inside the museum itself, then made their way into the 18,042 square foot structure that we had erected just a few days earlier. After a warm welcome from Robert Kreider, the President and CEO of Devereux, the celebration got underway. The Master of Ceremonies was none other than legendary Channel 6 ABC Anchorman, Jim Gardner, who spoke eloquently of the foundation’s accomplishments to the nearly 900 guests. The Mayor of Philadelphia, Michael Nutter was also an honored guest and keynote speaker as well. An inspiring film directed by Sam Katz told the tale of the last 100 years of Devereux (Devereux, A History).

Following the film, speeches and an exciting live auction, guests enjoyed the beautiful decor by Table Art and creative cuisine by Stephen Starr Events Stephen Starr Events.. Then they danced the night away on our wooden parquet dance floor to the energetic EBE band L.A. Stars.

In order to keep the guests comfortable (particularly those in sleeveless evening gowns), we installed our heating system, which was ducted into the structure for a steady supply of warm air. We also used solid glass sidewalls to enclose the tent on the parkway side for extra warmth and an elegant look.
As one of the sponsors for this amazing celebration, EventQuip was lucky to receive a table for ourselves. It was the first time for several of us to actually be inside the tent enjoying the party, instead of working!
Here’s two of our office girls, Carrie and Rebecca excited to be there!

Thanks to all of our hardworking crew for making EventQuip shine at this very memorable event!
